Had lunch. The food was a good serving. The roll was great and hot. It took an extra long time to get my drink because the waitress was cleaning a table. It was not crowded. The food was severed in a short time after she took my order

This is my husband and I's go to breakfast cafe! We've been here lots of times and the service and food is consistently GREAT! I always get the chicken fried chicken and waffles. The chicken fried chicken is seasoned well and very moist! The waffles are awesome! My husband always gets the chicken fried chicken skillet. This skillet is filled with onions, potatoes, bell peppers, eggs and cheese.

Amazing place. It's hole in the wall that is great. We were seated promptly, our server was quick our food was out fast. The proportions were good sized. The salsa we got tasted really good. French toast was amazing. We will be going back. Really great bank for your buck! Can't wait to try more

Classic greasy spoon food that you really want to eat. Skip all those "fancy" places that prepare food that is meh. Here everything is amazing. Prices are fair and you can easily share many of the breakfast places.

We traveled 2 hours for a night away in Dallas and before heading home felt Good Day Cafe is worth the stop as an amazing breakfast send off.

What's not to like about Good Day Cafe? Everyone needs to have a good diner on their list, a real go to place for breakfast, lunch and dinner and Good Day Cafe has the best of two cuisine worlds - it's Ameri-Mex!! And it's very good - good food, good service in a brightly lit family diner setting.

We went on a holiday weekend, Mother's Day weekend, in the middle of the afternoon and they were packed. The restaurant started emptying out while we were eating; but I never saw a service problem, even though we must have seen four different servers!

They have the most delicious complimentary hot fresh crispy chips and super spicy salsa. I ordered a breakfast version of stacked ground beef enchiladas, refried beans and avocado slices with two jumbo perfectly fried over easy eggs on top! Marvelous, more than I could eat and moderately priced. Everything on their enormous menu appeared to be modestly priced and they have kids and seniors portions, too.

My spouse opted for the chicken fajitas - a huge mound of chicken, charred grilled onions and peppers - and even more than he could eat with refries and rice and even more wonderful salsa.

We were impressed all the way around including the level of cleanliness and intend to go back. (This is the Grand Prairie location on Beltline. I understand that there is more than one location!)

Went here for the first time with my family after my nieces graduation!! I was impressed with everything from the service to the food. Every meal was served hot, and met everyone's expectations. We have many different taste buds shall I say in my family and it satisfied all from the children to vegetarians. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back AJ was an awesome server. I Will spend my money here any day!!

  • *****

Overall I really liked this place. I have the Texas skillet with biscuit and gravy. The skillet was really good, got my eggs over medium and the were cooked right! The gravy was meh. Good coffee and good service. There was no wait, I came on Saturday but it's a rainy day but it was still good flow of ppl but not a stupid long wait

  • *****

So tonight was our Dive Date night! We chose this place because it was close to the house! Oh My Goodness! The food was amazing and fresh! Our waitress was a sweetheart and very attentive! This was a hidden treasure! Very quaint and family oriented! This was yet another Great Yelp Suggestion! I was pleased and I will definitely be back!

  • *****

I came here for breakfast because I saw the other good reviews. I was not disappointed. The dining area was clean and laid out with plenty of space. The service was very good. My food was so good. Prices were fair. The menu had lots of options.

  • *****

Great place for breakfast, friendly fast service and awesome food. A variety of breakfast/lunch and dinner menu.

  • *****

After church breakfast? yes! A little bit of a wait on this hidden gem, and the potatos were so good, and I asked for super runny eggs and it was nice.

I love making myself breakfast at home, but today is the day to relax. :D :D :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D::D:D

  • *****

Best French toast on the planet! Also have not found a single thing I haven't loved. Some favorites are the BLT omelette and the chicken fried chicken.

  • *****

Food was quite good. Eggs Benedict with red potatoes. I was full for hours. Very flavorful. Hubby had cheese enchiladas and really liked them. Quiet place. That seemed strange but every diner is different. Bathrooms clean and don't stink. Waitress was very sweet. Would go again.

  • *****

The best breakfast! Very picky about coffee, pancakes and eggs and this place is like eating at grandma house on Sat morning. Thumbs up

  • *****

My wife and I eat here several times a month. Best breakfast place in Grand Prairie. I recommend this place 100 percent. Friendly staff and great food.

  • *****

A family favorite right by our house!

Menu offerings and prices similar to a diner like Denny's or IHOP, except everything is prepared in house. Extensive breakfast offerings. Good homestyle cooking with massive portions. Get ready to get a to-go box. The service is excellent. It's a small place and seems family run, so there might be a bit of a wait at their busy times but it is more than worth it.

  • *****

Came on a friend's recommendation. Ordered the BLT omelette with extra side of bacon. My guest had the stacked enchilada with chicken. All I can say to both is OMG!
The food was great. The customer service from AJ was 10+. The bathrooms were clean.

    We will be back soon!

  • *****

If I'm not eating here every Saturday morning, I'm popping in for a quick dinner with my son. So much variety makes it easy to stop here often. Pancakes, eggs Benedict, cheeseburgers, and enchilada skillets are my favorites.

  • *****

Great food, friendly and attentive staff, go-as-you-are crowd. Definitely worth a repeat trip and a visit to the Arlington location.

  • *****

Great little spot in Grand Prairie!!!
Breakfast is always great you may have to wait a little on Saturday mornings but it's definitely worth the wait.

  • *****

Our favorite Saturday morning breakfast cafe. Extensive menu and waitresses are always friendly! Chicken fried steak is a must for us.

  • *****

Shout out to waitress Loren her service was above the rest! Food came out fast hot and so authentically good, oh and the syrup was warm just how I like it! Def coming back and spreading the word of their great service and authentic food.

  • *****

We completely enjoyed this cafe. We were seated immediately with great service. Food was excellent. Salsa was even better. Kids Even ate their food for once. Bonus.

  • *****

Ate here on a Saturday- a bit of a wait but well worth it

Food was terrific and service was also - the vegetables were as promised and try the jalapeo cornbread is a must

  • *****

This is a hidden gem. I ordered the chicken fried chicken skillet . It comes with potatoes and your choice of egg, I chose a runny egg. First time here and the service was great, they were polite. My waitress was a darling. Secondly the meal , was huge and the price was perfect, only $10.99 for all that food. I chose to get a biscuit instead of toast and it was home baked. When I say I rarely like biscuits I don, but this one WAS AMAZING. It almost had a corn bread flavor to it , I loved it. Overall this place deserves its 5 stars. The food is great , atmosphere is nice and homey. Glad I live nearby this might be my new go to brunch spot !

  • *****

    Great food.
    Love this place

We found this wonder place on yelp. It did not disappoint. Had about a 10 minute wait. The staff is amazing!! Very attentive and friendly. Our breakfast was delicious. We will definitely be back on our next visit. Great food great service!!

  • *****

So good. We had breakfast there today and the price is great for the amount of food you get. AJ the waiter was awesome as well. Will definitely go again.

  • *****

I mainly come here for breakfast but the lunch and dinner look very tempting. I always order the Fiesta Skillet ( hashbrowns, eggs, chorizo, onions, green bell pepper etc) very tasty. And comes with there specialty sauce! Very yummy all combined. It is a small place and the weekends usually get packed so call ahead for seating just in case. I dont mind the wait just because the food here is delicious! Highly recommend!

  • *****

Amazing food. My friend and I got the skillets and they were outstanding. A great flavor on the potatoes and the smoked sausage, YUM!! I highly highly recommend and we'll be back! Only downside was that the tea and lemonade only give you one free refill, but the wait staff, service, and food was outstanding. Music was just right when we went too! I can't recommend it enough. Truly one of those holes in the wall you don't want to miss.

  • *****

I just ate here for the first time and now I understand the hype. There was a wide selection to choose from both lunch and dinner. When the food arrived it was hot and fresh and the service was great. I will certainly be back.

    Awesome food especially for breakfast????????????

  • *****

Good day cafe where have you been all my life. I recently found this restaurant. I can attest to this place, it is darn good. I have went for breakfast and dinner. I hate when people write restaurant reviews but do not comment what they ate, so here we go. For breakfast I have had Texas skillet , pancakes and country fried stake meal and can tell you all were great tasting meals. Other plates to make note of, based on comments of people I went with, were country fried steak with sweetened carrots and mash potatoes, chicken fried steak, avocado and bacon burger and the buffalo chicken sandwich. Do not forget to sub the fries for union rings, they are delicious. Portions are very generous, not to mention the meals are not too expensive. Customer service is also second to none with each visit I had, I have had a very friendly helpful staff. Skip Ihop or dennys for breakfast , trust me you wont regret it.

  • *****

From homestyle to Mexican, they had it all and did it well. Very nice atmosphere and great service. We felt right at home and relaxed. Stacked enchiladas were amazing, fresh brewed coffee, the Texas skillet was great. We were not able to eat half our meals. Oh and did I mention the CAKES, yes homemade cakes. We took them to go, we were fixed up with utensils and napkins for the long ride home. The carrot cake was my favorite and the strawberry cake my husbands so you can't go wrong! Enjoy, we will be back!

  • *****

    Awesome food

  • *****

Great food. Friendly and fast service. Chicken fried steak skillet, loved the seasoning on red potatoes. Only thing I didn't care for biscuit ok but not my preference. Enchiladas beans and rice excellent. My daughter got the Nutella crepe combo. She said the combo part was enough the crepe was dessert. She said she probably ask for it to be without strawberries it got a little soggy by the time she ate it.

  • *****

Good breakfast spot! Not far off I20. Was driving thru the area and didn't want fast food. Great quality food, great service, very clean inside
    Decent prices

  • *****

My family and I have been here around 5 times and every time we come the food has been excellent. The chicken fried skillet is really good. I just started to have the breakfast enchiladas and it is also delicious. The staff is great and very friendly. Oh by the way we drive about 30 mins to come here and it's well worth it.

  • *****

Always enjoy this place. Quick service, like really fast every time we good. Consistently good food everytime. Their French toast is average to me, but still good.

  • *****

Fiesta skillet was amazing, had a waffle and it was great as well. Plus they sat 11 of us at noon on a Saturday, our waitress was good. We will be back!

  • *****

Stacked enchiladas are the best.. serve is amazing.. price is fair and coffee is good.. great environment.. nice gathering place

  • *****

Busy little cafe but worth the wait! We waited about fifteen minutes for a table but not long for our food after ordering. We both ordered the farm dish with eggs, sausage, hash browns, bell peppers and onions. Everything was delicious and served very quickly.

  • *****

Friendly, home made style cafe with friendly staff, great breakfasts and pancakes and a local feel.

  • *****

    Favorite place. Thank you :)

Excellent service, pork chops, eggs and pancakes cooked to order even though it was a very busy Sunday. We are from out of town, but would definitely come back next time.

  • *****

We visit this location often. Service and food are always very satisfying. We love that its a full menu order anything, anytime. Well during open hours of course.

  • *****

Very delicious food, unexpected quick service but hot and perfect. Very fair price and nice environment.

  • *****

First time here... soooo good! We came on a Saturday at noonish and the place was packed but we didn't really have much of a wait. I had the stacked enchilada breakfast and it was awesome.

  • *****

I love this little place to eat. Either breakfast or a full on dinner menu. Something for everyone.

  • *****

We went there on Football Saturday eith a large group. No problems in being seated; great service, tasty dishes- excellent experience. A bit hard to find but worth that extra effort. Definitely returning.

  • *****

Delicious great food portions! The place is small so call ahead if you can, but the wait wasn't too bad for a Sunday brunch with the girls. Great service!

  • *****

    Hours of operation are wrong

  • *****

Wow!! Ate here day we arrived in San Fran. I dreamed about the heirloom tomato last night, it was a dream come true. The avocado tasted like sunshine. My sister recommended the avocado 3 ways and I'm so happy she did. She had a bagel with Nutella/banana/rice crispies and the other had PB/maple syrup/bacon/apple. Of course I try everything on the table no matter who's at my table. Did I mention the fresh fruit and fresh squeezed OJ? A++

  • *****

This was a wonderful surprise for us after being on a long vacation and heading back home! The menu is extensive and I only wish I lived closer so I could try everything! My husband ordered the special of the day (beef tips & rice) which he said was amazing. I had the ground beef patty with grilled squash & fried okra. The meat & gravy were the best I've ever had - the squash & okra both very good. We finished by sharing a slice of their homemade pineapple upside down cake - delish!!!
    Love this place!!!

  • *****

We love Good Day Cafe! The wait is never over 10 minutes, even if it is crowded with people. The service and food are great. We love their Texas skillet!

  • *****

Just had a delicious breakfast here! The food was hot and served by AJ, a great waiter!

  • *****

Ate here this morning with my friend on a whim while waiting for IKEA to open and I've fallen instantly in love with this place! I had the chicken fried steak skillet with red potatoes and a biscuit with gravy. It was steaming hot, SO delicious, and the portion size was generous. I WILL be back to devour more dishes on the menu!

  • *****

Been eating here since 2008. Has really grown and become a one of a kind consistently good and friendly place to meet and eat. Way to go locals. We love you GP

  • *****

Wow great breakfast! Chicken fried chicken skillet was awesome. Potatoes were seasoned well and the chicken was perfect. I'll be back.

  • *****

Great food! Some things are a little pricey, but overall you will not be disappointed. The French toast is amazing!

  • *****

A large group of us were in Grand Prarie for a volley ball game. Afterwards we looked for a place where our party of 13 could go, we found this place on Yelp and headed over.

The wait was about 25 minutes, but once we got in everything was great. Our waiter was super attentive, knew the menu and everything about the restaurant.

Everyone enjoyed their meal and we've all put it on our list of places to consider when going out for breakfast.

    Give them a try.

  • *****

    I will certainly be back

  • *****

    Breakfast for 2.

We always walk into a new place with zero expectations, but Good Day Cafe was a pleasant surprise.

The servers were very friendly and quick. We ordered the Eggs Benedict and the Chicken fried chicken with seasoned red skin potatoes on the side. We also ordered a side of french toast. Overall, the most memorable were the perfectly cooked and flavorful red skinned potatoes. The eggs were perfectly cooked medium and coffee was just right. The french toast was just about what we expected.

My husband and I looked at each other and debated when the last the last time we had a breakfast this good. Good Day Cafe is one spot we will visit again.

  • *****

The food was at our table, FAST. Great food, great service. Love this place. True cafe. The Migas were excellent with the right spice. Love their patty sausage. Can't wait to try lunch here. Very busy but we were sat quickly. Service with a smile. Love it.

  • *****

I LOVE this place! I've been coming here and loving the food and the excellent service since before they moved. The entire staff takes such great care to make you happy and the management knows how to make you feel like family and now, my entire family drives from all over the state to eat here. It's always a good day for Good Day! Thanks y'all!

  • *****

Good Day Cafe had great hash browns, exceptional pancakes, and bland chicken fried steak. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy, it's a perfect place for family dinner! I would recommend coming here, as long as you don't order the chicken fried steak.

  • *****

We visited GDC on a trip to Grand Prairie for something not related and we stopped and had breakfast here with our son. We enjoyed breakfast (which is served all day) I had the Nutella crepe and my husband had the chicken fried chicken, son had the meat lovers omelette- we all enjoyed our meal- we were served by Christian and he was very nice - maybe a little timid but very very nice. Coffee was hot and we were well attended to. Now that our son has been here, he'll be back since it's local to him. Won't mind coming back when we visit again

  • *****

Great food and friendly service. Plus, great to see they are on Door Dash

  • *****

Great Cafe with good breakfast and brunch. Cozy Cafe feel. Great chicken fried chicken, chicken and waffles, and French toast

  • *****

Good food and always busy. We've had their breakfast menus items mainly. Fast service.

  • *****

My friend and I took our families to a quick mini vacation. I saw the great reviews and they did not disappoint. Food was absolutely delicious and portions for huge. I had the chicken fried chicken skillet. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. Will definitely come again.

  • *****

Great food great place to eat. Nice friendly staff. Like this good cafe. It is clean and established neighborhood. Like the Shopping center where they are located easy to get into it. Be going back for breakfast again soon.

  • *****

This place is a gym. We were in from out of town and found this highly rated steakhouse. We were not disappointed. Ordered the bone-in filet and found my self scraping the bone for every last little bit of meat. It wasn't a pretty site. I didn't care. My wife ordered some type of salad (she liked it) and stared at me like I was a caveman. I just pointed to my 17 y/o son (who was gnawing on the bone) and shrugged. Can't wait to go back to Wichita. We will eat here again.

  • *****

Wow. From the service, to the food, to the prices---- AMAZING. We have had kind service since the moment we walked in- which means A LOT. We received our food very promptly, even with a party of 18 next to us! The food was incredible. It's not just "normal" chicken fried chicken or chicken fried steak from a freezer. They use a homemade recipe for their breading and it is not only unique, but ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The prices were very reasonable for the amount of food we received and the selection of food was incomparable. It's a little overwhelming to have so many choices, but that's a personal preference. Honestly, it's one of the best and most unique breakfasts I've had in a while- and I only got the chicken fried chicken and egg breakfast! The homemade touch is what made it not only special, but delicious. Even though it's a trek for us, we will probably be back for breakfast again

  • *****

This place has great service. The waitress came by often to check up on us. The food was awesome! Definitely a great spot for some homestyle cooking. Would come back!

  • *****

Great food great place to eat. Nice friendly staff. Like this good cafe. It is clean and established neighborhood. Like the shopping center where they are located easy to get into it.

  • *****

This was a wonderful surprise. We needed to feed several very hungry dancers, and this restaurant was a great find. Huge portions, fast service, attentive waitstaff, and reasonable prices were all reasons we will be visit the next time we are in Kennendale.

  • *****

Friendly staff and good food. Ate the chicken fried chicken with gravy on top. Really good.

  • *****

This is the absolute cutest place ever. It definitely gives off the vintage diner feel. What I absolutely love about this place is there people. All the servers are so nice and sweet. They have an excellent sense of humor and they don't mind helping you throughout your whole time being their. Their breakfast combos are absolutely divine! I got the French Toast combo and it was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be going back to try other things they have on the menu.

  • *****

Glad we stopped here! Lots to choose from on the menu. Friendly service. Family friendly. We were all hungry and cranky from hunting for a place to eat on the way back home from a day trip, and this place put us back into a good mood. Liked the prices, too.

  • *****

Great service, excellent food prepared just as ordered. Would go back there in a heartbeat.

  • *****

After my long early bird workout I wanted a good omelette my sister recommended this place. The customer service is over the top everyone was so nice I tend to pay attention to how other tables are treated and they are 5 star on customer service. Now the food was delicious my sis have chicken and waffles (which I sampled...lol) and of course my BLT omelette was perfection I highly recommend this place. Only thing is you better get there early because a lot of people know how great it is. I look forward to trying their other location off Cooper St. in Arlington Texas. You have got to try this place...I know how it is to be on the search for a good place to become a regular.

  • *****

This one of my favorite breakfast spot to visit, family oriented, and food doesn't take too long. They have a lot of different menu options and it's all good comfort food. • *****

This has become our go-to weekend breakfast stop. The food is fresh and delicious and falls somewhere between home cookin' and Tex-Mex. My regular order is the stacked enchilada dish. It is tortilla, sausage, and cheese dish served in a skillet topped with a fried egg. Very very good. Great place to meet the family for breakfast or brunch or just your best girl! Highly recommend.

  • *****

This is my new favorite breakfast location. The staff were friendly, and quick with service. I observed that they serve many different food options. I had the chicken friend chicken, home fries and eggs. I can't wait to return!!!

  • *****

Well this place was a ray of sunshine on a rainy day.
Short answer: get down to the cafe, and enjoy. :)

Happy long version: you know those days you just want to curl up with some good comfort food, well today was one of those days. Wet, rainy and in need of some happy people and really good food. Yep this is THE spot. Rain or shine. I finally got to come over to this spot everyone has been talking about for a while. And it is wonderful. As I walked in from the rain I was nicely greeted and seated. Tristan was my waiter and he was very nice and helpful. And filled me in on what is his favorites. 1st off coffee. Very good I must say for a cafe. Then moved on to the BLT omelet which was a very good choice. Eggs were perfectly done. And whoever is their supplier that they are getting their spinach from, it is really good! Very fresh spinach! I love that! Nice piece of cheese on top of the omelet with a pretty slice of tomato also. Instead of bread or biscuits I got a pancake to try out. And it was very good too. Golden brown nice and fluffy inside. Home style comfort food is happening down here and you need to check it out. Thank you Tristan for your nice friendly service! The menu looks great with lots of other yummy things to try. So yep I'll be coming back.

Food was great, wait wasn't long for delivery. Would have given it 5 stars but the lemon pepper dry rub was a bit too lemony for me. Would have appreciated a bit more seasoning.

  • *****

The restaurant is kinda small and outdated. It definitely has the old cafe vibe. The service was mediocre. In fact I had to wait for a while to be a acknowledged. However, once we were helped everything was good. The food was DELICIOUS! prices are very reasonable! Despite the mediocre customer service I will be going back. Hopefully it was just a bad day for service!

  • *****

Found this little gem on yelp so decided to try it with my BFF, who was visiting from out of town. Amazing food and great service!

  • *****

My wife and I had delicious food delivered to our table in less than 10 minutes. We saw a party of 11 be seated, eat, and leave within 30 minutes. The service is speedy but personal. Our server, AJ, did a fantastic job with courtesy and a smile. I am duly impressed by this restaurant.

  • *****

Awesome food and even better service. Guacamole might be the best I've ever tasted. If you're a dessert person then you MUST try the strawberry waffle ice cream concoction. Amazing!

  • *****

Good day is super awesome. Nice whole in the wall family restaurant. Staff is always friendly and greeting you with a smile. Prices are very reasonable. They do give you lots of food for your dollar as well. I took my husband once and he's been taking the family almost every weekend now. The stacked enchiladas are the best! Honestly, I haven't had anything I dont like yet. Go stop by and enjoy a nice pleasant atmosphere. You wont be disappointed.

  • *****

Great breakfast spot. They get slam packed on the weekends, but the food makes up for the wait.

  • *****

Good Variety of down home cooking. Food is consistent and has been above average each visit. A safe place to take friends or meet someone. All types of breakfasts to choose from. After 10 to 12 visits can say the service replicated the food! To summarize: The Food, Service and even their prices are consistent and reliable. You get what you expect at a cost that is reasonable.

  • *****

We love coming here! You can basically get anything you want to eat because the menu is huge! It's not an upscale restaurant... It's a diner type restaurant. The food is always hot and comes very quickly. The waitresses are very attentive. The coffee is great! And I love their eggs Benedict. The Migos are very good too. Try to avoid coming on Sunday after church because there will be a line out the door. But if you can get in there early before 9:30 AM on a weekend morning, you will be guaranteed a seat quickly.

  • *****

This is my first visit. I will return. The staff is excellent. The chicken and waffles with a side of sliced bananas was tasty!

  • *****

Today was my first experience with good day cafe, and I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed. The only difficult thing about my time here was picking what I wanted from the menu since everything looked so tasty. With that being said, they have an amazing variety of dishes from Mexican to home cooked southern-esque meals. My favorite thing about my visit was the BISCUITS & GRAVY!! The biscuits were incredibly moist and melted in mouth almost instantly. The only reason that I left a four star review instead of five was due to the waiting area. I came in around noon, and the wait line was backed up by at least four families. I felt like there wasn't enough room for people waiting to be seated. Other than that, I would recommend good day to anyone wanting a good meal at affordable prices.

  • *****

This is a quiet little cafe. Great place for a home style breakfast. Nothing fancy about it. It's what you would want and expect from a cafe. Staff is prompt and friendly. Food is good, hot and cooked to order.

  • *****

If it comes down to this place or a chain restaurant I will pick this place 100 times! There are many items on the menu that sounded delicious, and it was difficult to pick just one to try. The colorado omelette and waffle that I had was exceptional and I am going to come back to try their huevos rancheros. The staff was so attentive and our coffee was always full! I'm so glad to have discovered Good Day Cafe!

  • *****

We were seated quickly, and then soon after a waitress was ready for us to order drinks and our food. There was also a very short wait for our food which was great because we were very hungry and the food was really good. It also seemed very clean and all the staff was very nice and efficient. Me and my best friend went there for the first time today and we definitely will be going back.

  • *****

Came here and got lunch to go. This place is busy busy!!! It took awhile to order because it was so busy, but it was well worth the wait. I got the avocado bacon burger with a side salad. The side salad is iceberg, croutons (yummm), and a tomato slice. I had both the honey mustard and ranch dressing...you have to order the ranch here! With the cold crisp lettuce and croutons, it was a perfect side salad and filled me up. The avocado bacon cheeseburger...just look at the picture! It's massive! The burger was so dang good! The patty was seasoned PERFECTLY and was so juicy. The bacon was crumbles and almost like the pieces mashed into the patty before cheese was placed on top (GENIUS). It's my new favorite way to eat bacon on a cheeseburger. The bun was toasty and buttery. The avocados were chunks and fresh. I cannot wait to try other dishes (and desserts) from this place!

  • *****

I love this place the food is so delicious!!! And the prices are very reasonable every time we have a family celebration that's our favorite place and the customer service is excellent they are very friendly!!!

  • *****

    Awesome food and service!

  • *****

Went for Sunday brunch, the place was packed, but the service was very fast. Friendly servers, family ambiance, the food is so so good and tasty. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Will definitely be one of my favorite places for brunch or breakfast.

  • *****

The service is great along with the food

  • *****

We found this place looking through yelp because we were in the area. Wow, what a find! I had the chicken fried steak with black eyed peas, fried okra and home fries; also a cup of meatball soup. We then shared a piece of strawberry cake for dessert. Everything I ate was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to come back and try some of their breakfast dishes. Highly recommend this place to any and everyone.

  • *****

Stop today to Good Day Cafe. The very first time I was not impressed. As my food was not very good and Bland. Maybe it was my choice of item. I decided to give them a second go-around since I was in the area and did not want to do a chain like IHOP or Denny's. I had the machaca. I was intrigued by the ingredients and thought it would be similar to chicharron. It was and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It had eggs, jalapenos, tomatoes, onions, tortillas. They had this awesome sauce that seemed like a blend of the Cholula Mexican hot sauce along with some other herbs and spices. Almost like an orange salsa hear it not sweet but savory. Just about medium Heat. The dish also had shredded beef instead of chicken or carnitas which is usually in chicharron. I cap it off with some English t, Earl Grey. They had a cooler full of cakes and Pai. The hostess was nice enough to compliment me with a slice of cinnamon bread that she says pairs well with coffee. I love my coffee. I will have to go back to try another dish on the item that was intriguing to me as well. Machaca is a seasonal item and may not always be available so I had to have a back-up plan.

  • *****

Hoppin' spot for brunch! Few minute wait for a table for three. It was super busy, but our orders were taken right away. The portions were huge! I ordered the BLT omelette topped with fresh huge slices of avocado, with potatoes subbed for and up-charge. Honest to goodness two people could've shared this massive plate. The coffee and water was replenished before we could even get down half way.

Great stop for a hearty and homemade breakfast or brunch!

  • *****

If you spend all day in church (hello, this is Texas, so you either do that or you go to a Rodeo or a BBQ place or a Mexican place or you go to a brothel oh wait forget I said that last part), then it's "God Day." If you train for 24 hours to be a security worker, that's "Guard Day." If you spend 24 hours getting made love to by people of the same gender as yourself, that's "Gayed Day." And that's my favourite.

But this is, sadly, not that. This is "Good Day." And you will have a Good Day if you eat here... but not a Great Day.

We picked this place for breakfast based on Yelp reviews which is always problematic cuz neither of us really eat or like breakfast especially in America. Sorry Supertramp. I grew up in England (so did Supertramp) so breakfast food in America is extremely substandard to me. She has a Mexican family so she is used to more delicious chorizo and eggs for breakfast.

Nevertheless this is pretty good and service was not bad. We ordered the skillet which was some delicious potato stuff (a tiny bit dry) with eggs over it, and biscuits and gravy on the side. Honestly, it was a little bland, but the eggs at least made it more edible and gave it a little more juice. The truth is I just don't like breakfast food here in the US, but as far as it goes, this place is pretty good.

The owner talked to us afterwards, and she was really nice. My finger was in the process of falling off (if I hadn't gone to the clinic later that day, I would have lost it), so I wasn't in much of a mood to eat anyway.

Now that we've had a Good Day, let's have a Good Night, bae.

  • *****

    Hands down delicious brunch!
There was a lot of people there but we waited maybe 5-10 min to be seated. Good came out quick and so so so good.
I ordered the fiesta skillet my husband had some enchilada plate. We both agreed mine was better, (I added jalapeos and it completed it :)
Pancakes were great! Great service! Will definitely come again

  • *****

Excellent breakfast. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs and it made me so happy! The service was great too. Our server was quick and friendly. Definitely will be back!

  • *****

My sister and I stopped coming from airport. It was amazing best decision of our day. Service great! Food amazing and they were fast! We will back

  • *****

The BEST home cooking we've ever had! Hot, Fresh and served with a smile!!!

  • *****

Came here on our last day in the area, we should have come before!

Food was excellent, the restaurant is very clean, and you know you are about to eat good when the place is filled with local workers!!!!

We didn't gave them a 5 star, because there's always room to improvement!

  • *****

Been here 4 times and every time I tried something different. Food is delicious, fast service, and great customer service!! Laura Lee was our waitress very polite and beautiful young lady. I would recommend this place to anyone!!

  • *****

A very clean diner with great service and great choices of food! I would definitely recommend this place if looking for a comfortable dining experience.

  • *****

In town for Cowboys game and stopped in after seeing they had 4.5 stars. This place definitely deserves those stars! The place was packed waited 5 min for a table, food came out hot and fast. I had breakfast burrito fianc had a skillet breakfast and we shared a pancake. Pancake was light, fluffy and so good! We both enjoyed our breakfast and would order again. If in the area stop in, totally worth it.

  • *****

This is the first time trying this restaurant and I must say it was so good! I had the Denver omelets and my husband had the chicken and waffles and we were impressed with the quality and size of meals.

  • *****

Great food, great service. This is like Ihop with a Mexican twist. My favorite the Chila skillet you get to choose between salsa verde and salsa roja. Don't expect them to be your traditional chilaquiles. Another plate i recommend is the Texas skillet. Pancakes are really good and good size also. I share my short stack with 2 more people. Also if you signed up for rewards they send you coupons to use via text.

  • *****

This is a perfect place to eat waffles and coffee.
Indeed, eating Fiesta skillet indeed really seems like theres a festival in my mouth! I really want to go back and have breakfast here.

  • *****

This is the best place in all of GP! This place has the best service and food! I would definitely come back! There food is top notch and everything in the menu is delicious. There isn't a single on there that is bad. If you are looking for a place to eat out with good service and great food definitely come to Good Day Cafe because it's the best place in all of Grand Prairie! If you don't have friends I would recommend bringing them here.. if they still aren't your friends,, well they probably worship Satan!!! :/// get new friends ASAP!

  • *****

This place has the most AMAZING food!! I initially intended to go to ihop, but I am so glad that I didn't! IHOP's food is frozen, point blank. They'll even tell you if you ask. Good Day Cafe's food is never frozen though! There food is made to order,
Always fresh and delicious!! It's literally become my favorite breakfast place, hands down. I hope they become so renowned that they spread out into a chain restaurant. Keep up the good work!!

  • *****

A nice family home cooking restaurant! We were happy to find this place through yelp reviews while traveling through Texas. We came at an off hours time, but were happy to see they serve breakfast all day. We ended up changing our mind and ordering hot lunch items from their large complete menu. I was happy with my choice called Good Day chicken. A very family friendly place.

  • *****

This is our second time coming here and it's amazing! The food is homemade and delicious. Service is awesome!!

  • *****

Literally came in on a whim and It turned out to live up to the amazing reviews! I've lived in GP for about 20 years and am very happy to know that there's a good quality local restaurant.

  • *****

Was out this way wondering around one Sunday morning. My crew was hungry and Tell led me here. There wasn't a wait. We were seated immediately. I got the corn beef hash. It was good. Cooked perfectly. The hash not under done and not over done. Cooked softly with a little crisp to it. Eggs were fresh. It's been awhile since I had a decent corn beef and hash. Good Day did it right.

  • *****

Friendliest people! We were in a hurry and they got our food out so fast. The breakfast menu has lots of choices and we enjoyed our food.

  • *****

Recently made a yelp yesterday this place is by far the best breakfast place in town I recently moved to the us and I really like breakfast but Denny's I hop are too over rated this is home made breakfast to your table !! Amazing! customer service is on point too and don't forget to try the coconut cake !

  • *****

The husband and I had a great experience breakfast was great coffee fantastic staff was OK could be better

  • *****

Great place for breakfast. You will not be disappointed. Fast and friendly service. Weekends are very busy so come early.

  • *****

    Love it

  • *****

Very good taco salad. Staff is friendly and attentive. Restaurant is nicely set up and clean. My first time here. I will come again.

  • *****

Found this on Yelp while in an unfamiliar neighborhood, and so glad we did! I can honestly say the huge biscuit was better than my grandma's. Quite possibly the best I've ever had. We live in Lewisville, and we'll drive to GP to eat here again. Friendly service was the icing on the cake.

  • *****

This place is absolutely AMAZING!! Me and my boyfriend first visited on a Sunday morning. They were super busy! I got the 2 eggs breakfast with bacon which was excellent. I wanted to try their waffles so I got an order of those with strawberries on top. My boyfriend ordered the meat lovers omelette and a few biscuits and gravy. He fell in love with the biscuits and gravy and said the omelette was the best he had ever eaten!! I didn't notice until I got close to finishing my plate that the strawberries weren't on top of my waffles. I started to flag down the waitress and she came to the table with the strawberry topping!! She said she had been watching me so when I was close to done with my food, she could bring out the strawberries. That way my waffles wouldn't be soggy. How is THAT for customer service?? We are now regulars. Everything I have tried there has been delicious! I have even got a few friends hooked on this Cafe!

  • *****

My family & I are regulars! Definitely closest to a home cooked breakfast. My favorite is the chicken & waffle (banana & nut waffle) with homefries & sweet tea!

  • *****

This place is amazing!! Do yourself a favor and stop in. We had trouble picking something to eat because everything sounded amazing. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fried okra it was fantastic. I took some tres leches cake to go and it was amazing as well. I can't wait to visit again so we can come back and eat at good day cafe.

  • *****

Delicious and the wait staff is helpful. The breakfast is home cooked and not too greasy. Definitely a great place to get a great meal.

  • *****

This place was delicious! We had the fiesta skillet and waffle plate and there was nothing left! Coffee isn't the best but the food makes up for it by far!!

  • *****

The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because I haven't been enough. But 3 visits in two weeks says enough. Breakfast twice and lunch once so far I am not disappointed. For a semi-small sit in diner the service is quick without sacrificing quality. I'm sure eventually I'll give it 5 stars!

  • *****

Amazing!!!!? Chicken fried Chicken skillet is delicious, their pancakes are huge, fluffy and yummy. The service is amazing and we will be back!!!

  • *****

Good food, Good service...it's gonna be a Good Day! Had the chop steak lunch special, mashed potatoes and gravy, cornbread, salad and an iced tea. Always feels like they are happy to have your business and that's why they get mine. Thank you

  • *****

Everything here is exellent. There are a wide variety of food choices from american classics to tex-mex. Their portions are large, well priced and exellent service. On of my breakfast favorites. Highly reccomend the chicken fried steak!

  • *****

Good food. Fast service. Tiny spot. There was about a 10min wait for our party of 5, but it was well worth it. Portions were generous & food was great.

  • *****

very good breakfast and the servers were polite.. comfortable and cozzy spot just the right size..our food came out quick!

  • *****

Came here for Saturday brunch. Service was fast and friendly, food was delicious. I had the stacked chicken enchilada breakfast and my hubby had the green salsa chilaquiles. I would definitely get mine again but with their incredible green salsa. I like the mix between American cafe and Tex-Mex menu items. We also shared a biscuit with gravy, which was fluffy and delicious. Our waitress made great recommendations, I'd try whatever else she suggests.

  • *****

LOVED THIS PLACE! Customer service was great, fast and server was able to anticipate any need we had(bringing ice on the side, asking if we wanted to go cups, etc.). Food was excellent and location is convenient!

  • *****

It's a great place, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The service is wonderful and the prices are reasonable. Make sure you leave room for dessert, it's all made right there!

  • *****

Pretty good I must say... My dad and step mom where in from California and wanted a local breakfast place. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time, so it was a go. The food was great. I had the breakfast enchiladas and was impressed. I would however recommend they have two different options for coffee. My parents love their dark roast coffee and were disappointed at the light roasted coffee. The server ended up giving us the instant coffee which was better. Other than that, id good back.

  • *****

Among the best Breakfasts in DFW. Not fancy, just really great food and service. The stacked enchilada bfast never disappoints. The hardest part is deciding chicken or chorizo. Both are great.

  • *****

Favorite GP breakfast spot. Love the stacked enchiladas. I do spinach instead of meat.

  • *****

This is my favorite breakfast place. The service is always friendly! The food is always really good and really hot. I have never had a bad experience. My favorite is the chorizo and eggs! And the coffee is great! A good place for couples and a good place for families.

  • *****

Second day in town and already have a breakfast spot. Prices just a bit high. Group had great pancakes, GREAT biscuits and gravy (biscuits are 3" tall!), and good bacon and eggs. Hashbrowns very good too.

  • *****

Not a lot of great options for breakfast in the area so decided to try this place - got seated right away at 10:30am on a Sunday. I had the smothered hash brown breakfast. It was something unique I haven't seen before. I thought it was good. This place is just a good little diner/cafe but not worth driving out of your way for.

  • *****

My first visit today for breakfast. 2 Pork chop, pancakes, hash brows, and 2 eggs over easy ! No complaints. It was busy and my wait was less than 30 seconds. The waiter was very nice, refills without asking. I will return.

  • *****

Love this place for breakfast. The waffles and eggs are the best and I love the local dinner feel

  • *****

Yum! The food here is great and I love that they have an all day breakfast menu. Their service is excellent and prices are reasonable. This is by far one of my favorite restaurants and I highly recommend it!

  • *****

Stopped in for breakfast after finding the restaurant on yelp. Food was very good. Service was fast and efficient. Looked to be a popular spot among the locals.

  • *****

A hidden gem. Visiting from San Antonio and the girls and I were looking for a nice little brunch spot...Good Day Cafe did NOT disappoint! The menu was filled with so many options it was hard to choose just one plate It was a bit overwhelming but we all got something different and enjoyed every bite.

There was no wait, even though it was full. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. I highly recommend to locals and visitors looking for good brunch.

My friends are going back to try their lunch/dinner options. But they were very surprised they did not know of this place...living right down the street lol...again, go check Good Day Cafe out...you will not be disappointed.

  • *****

Service is always great, food is excellent, fresh and there is a great variety! Breakfast all day and it's a homey diner like atmosphere! Just enjoyed a great philly cheese steak! The chicken and waffles is top notch, my boys order it every time we come here. Haven't tried any of the Mexican fare here yet, maybe next time!

  • *****

The serive was friendly and attentive. The food was awesome. The menu has a large variety of options. I will recommend this restaurant to everyone I know.

  • *****

This is my favorite breakfast place. We live in Duncanville yet drive to GP for the food. Try the Stacked breakfast enchilada if you like Tex-Mex! We also like the waffles and chicken, and the swaddle combo.

  • *****

First visit to Good Day Cafe with my family of 5. Sunday around 10:30... only had a 10 minute wait!! They were busy but the service is quick and friendly. I got the Migas w/ chorizo and they were perfect!!! A little spicy but that's the key to my heart. The side salsa was fresh and delicious. Husband got chicken friend steak and enjoyed. Gravy is fair. Kiddos each gotten something different (silver dollar pancakes, French toast, and happy face pancake) they devoured it and enjoyed a few bites of chicken fried steak and Migas. Already planning another trip back!!

  • *****

Everything was delicious..I ordered the Denver omelet my hubby had the traditional breakfast with waffles added...delicious

  • *****

So... we are in town for a baseball tournament and always looking for a good breakfast place, so we stumbled upon Good Day Cafe. It's not easy to spot from the road, but Waze led us to the front door. The staff is super friendly and helpful ... can't really ask for more in terms of the service. The menu is large with many choices to satisfy any appetite. We arrived at 8:30 am on a Saturday, which is worth a mention because we walked in and were seated immediately. By the time we left at 9:15, the place was packed.

It was packed for good reason. The food was great. I ordered the Fiesta Skillet and the salsa served with it added the perfect kick to the meal. The food came quickly and now the only question is: should we settle on here as our breakfast place while we are in the area or continue to explore? Decisions, decisions.

This place is terrific and reasonably priced. Enjoy!

  • *****

The food was very good and the staff was very friendly. I am now a fan and we will definitely go back.

  • *****

Been coming here for awhile, and I haven't been dissatisfied. The Stacked Enchiladas are awesome! My son likes the chicken and waffles.
It's a small establishment, but the wait is not long at all. The patrons seems to eat and leave in a timely manner.
When my family comes to visit, this place will definitely be on my list.

  • *****

They serve breakfast all day, so I ordered the spinach mushroom and swiss omelettem and my husband ordered the eggs benedict. Both were very good, We enjoyed our sides of red potatoes and grits as well. My daughter ordered the chicken parmesan. All three were hits. The service was great, and super quick. I do like real butter, and my only complaint would be that I wish it were served instead of the fake stuff. We will be back again and recommend this place for good homestyle food.

  • *****

Today was my first time here, and needless to say, I will be back for more! Right as I walked in today with my friend, we were greeted and seated right away. However, where we were seated was the only thing that knocked down a star. We were seated by the door, on a end of a ripped up booth and a lopsided chair on the other side. Everything was a little sticky, but that's okay. I assume we were seated there because we looked like little kids. Anyways, we ordered the sweet tea (really good btw!) and the chicken and waffles. The wait was about 10 minutes, not bad. Our food was DELICIOUS. The chicken was moist, the syrup was sweet, but the waffles were a little chewy. At least it was hot, right?

Nevertheless, my first experience here was wonderful. Service was a little slow, but the place was crowded so it's understandable. I can't wait to come back to try their lunch items because breakfast was a hit!

  • *****

This is my family's usual Sunday morning (after Church) spot. Very clean and comfortable. We typically arrive for breakfast just before 11am. We rarely have to wait to be seated and when we have its been no longer than 15 min. Especially now that they've moved into the new location.

There's a constant flow of traffic and sometimes the service can be a bit slow due to the demand. The food is consistently good and the staff is very friendly but at times just overwhelmed. Even with all of that having been said, its an enjoyable time, good prices and we're home in time for the 1st quarter of the football game...lol.

  • *****

I have had nearly 700 waffles during this waffle streak (I eat one a day) and few even come close to Good Day Cafe's. They're crisp, yet perfectly fluffy. Slightly sweet and could be enjoyed with or without syrup, but who does that?! Anyway, I've had their chicken & waffles before, so I haven't technically had any lunch or dinner items...but if that chicken was any indication, we should change that up soon and get here later in the day to try something!

  • *****

Great breakfast! I had the stacked enchiladas with eggs and chorizo. It was perfect! Friendly service. Clean dining area. I'll definitely be back!

  • *****

Wow! Just finished breakfast and it was outstanding! The buttermilk biscuits were the bomb, and everything was hot and delicious! If you're in Arlington near the Home Depot on I-20 and Carrier, you gotta try it! It was the best breakfast I've had in a long time! Fast, courteous service, reasonable prices, good quality and a talented kitchen!

  • *****

My visit didn't blow me away but it was definitely great. Considering I pulled up right as they opened, I was seated immediately, the waitress was friendly, I received my food quickly and it tasted great. It seemed a bit costly, but the overall service definitely made it worth it.

  • *****

Food was very good.. Chicken fried chicken was delicious.. Daughter enjoyed her vegetable soup.. I will definitely come back when I have a craving for southern good..

  • *****

I love it here! Ppl are super nice, food is amazing it's the closest I've got to home made food!

  • *****

One of our long-time favorite restaurants. Our place for brunch every Sunday after church.

  • *****

I love their biscuits for breakfast
& philly cheese steak sandwich with added Serrano peppers for an extra kick for lunch! Gaby is a great waitress! Always great service & atmosphere!

  • *****

This place is great for breakfast or lunch! The first time I came I got the chicken fried chicken and it was hugeeeee!!! They only open to three though which is a bummer because I was craving them the other day but they were closed. I have yet to try their other breakfast items, but I will be back soon! Great customer service!

  • *****

Yummy Breakfast/Brunch options. Great service . We both had stacked enchiladas breakfast. Hubby had chorizo, I had chicken. Delicious and generous servings of meat. Sauce was a little spicey, but nice. Tables are a little close together in this small cafe.

  • *****

The taste is more than you could ask for at these prices. This home cooking beats the heck out any fast food. And the service is everything common sense folk will appreciate.

  • *****

Came here for Sunday brunch and although it was packed, we were seated immediately. First thing we noticed was the variety in their menu. There is something for everyone! I got chicken and waffles and my husband ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs, he had a coke and I had coffee and our bill was under 25 dollars, we were very pleased. Service was great! The place seemed fully staffed and we never wanted for anything. Overall, great place for brunch!

Great place for breakfast and tex-mex cravings. I overhead people listing what all they've enjoyed eating here; which says that this place is so good that it gets repeat customers. Bad news is that this place is only open till 4pm on most days. Beware the dessert display at the entrance! We thought that we were too full for the coconut cream cheese pie that jumped into our to go bag, but it was delicious.

  • *****

OMG!!! This is the best breakfast I've ever had. We will be coming here every time we come in town to see our son.

  • *****

Just ate breakfast there. The Denver Omelette was very good. $25 for two to eat breakfast because spouse enjoys extra eggs with onions. They charge extra for English muffins instead of toast. They accommodate custom orders. Always a full cup of coffee! The grits were on the cool side and not the thickness we like them, that is how most restaurants serve them.

Great Service Great Food and Great prices can't beat that. Awesome spot for breakfast

    Biscuits and Gravy!!!!

Yes biscuits and gravy my favorite at this place. The biscuits are so fluffy and delicious! Of course if I were to eat this everyday I would be a hippo...so I dont but I could!

Southern comfort food....I have ordered breakfast both times and have not been let down. This is a small restaurant in an older strip center so it could use an update but it is seemingly clean and well kept. The staff have been friendly and service is quick.
This place is hidden behind the Popeyes and Dickeys BBQ off of Carrier Pkwy.

If I try lunch next time I will update my review! Happy biscuits and gravy...lol

This is only my 15th visit and everytime I get the same great service and food. The points you get for every meal adds up to a free sumthn (desert, drink, meal etc) Love love love Good day!

Yes, Yes, YES! A friend and I hit this up for a late breakfast on Saturday morning. The place was packed but we still were sat immediately. Service was on point and the foid was AMAZING. Cannot wait to come back and try more, because the menu looks so good it was hard to decide. I finally picked the Chicken & Waffles and hells yeah it was good. The chicken had a spicy breading that went perfectly with the sweet syrup and waffles.

  • *****

Breakfast dates are the best excuse to try new things. I came here yesterday and was thoroughly pleased with this establishment.
For my omelette, I was able to customize it to my liking, with extra veggies and an egg white substitution.
My brother got the chicken and waffles; the waffle was typical but the chicken? Now THAT was good. It's a thinner piece of meat, but the breading is well done.
I also got to try a bite of the blueberry crepe. They choose to use cottage cheese instead of cream cheese, which makes it not so over the top sweet. Not my personal taste, but I respect the difference.
Best part of the meal? Coconut cream cake! After breakfast, the dessert case called to me, so we took a piece to go. The frosting is cool whip and the actual cake was soaked in magic. It was very moist and melted in your mouth.
I'm eager to go back for lunch or dinner. Or... maybe a different type of cake...

Food is great, price is good been here only once and I'm looking forward for next time!

My husband and I were in the Dallas area for a concert and after sleeping in, we were hankering for some good breakfast. I put him in charge of finding a place and he came across this listing on Yelp, so we headed here.

When we walked in, I admit, I had my doubts. It's located in a strip mall, the entryway is not customer friendly at all (no waiting area), it was loud, but it was BUSY! I figured everyone had to be there for a reason. We had a little bit of a wait, but it wasn't too bad and they seated us as fast as a table opened up.

Our server was super prompt and very friendly. We ordered coffees and placed our breakfast orders. The waitress was even able to make substitutions for me since I'm gluten-free (which is always appreciated). She kept our coffee filled and our food came out right away. We both had basic breakfasts - eggs, bacon, hashbrowns - so I can only speak to that, but it was good and hot!

I would definitely go here if I was in the area again!

  • *****

Service was great! Came here during the week for breakfast so it wasn't as crowded as usual. I got the pancake combo and added hash browns it was only $9! Very reasonably priced I will definitely be back, next time I want to try lunch! My only complaint about my time here is that the silverware was so dirty..but besides that it was great!

  • *****

Great comfort food! Kind and friendly staff! Nice atmosphere - not grungy like some mom and pop diners can be.

  • *****

Love this lil hidden gem !! Best breakfast, they aren't stingy with their food!! 5 stars I will be back, great prices, good food and service!

Our favorite restaurant in Grand Prairie. I'm a chicken fried steak fan and this place knows how to make them. Staff is great!

  • *****

Very good breakfast and coffee. Large portion sizes. Plenty of tables too even during the rush hour brunch.

Found this place on Yelp earlier this year when I was looking for something close to home other than Dick's Uptown Cafe to visit (not that Dick's isn't great, but I like to have some variety) and have since been quite a few times. Especially when I want something delish without having to head downtown or to Oak Cliff.

The place itself is a bit smaller than others so there definitely might be some mornings you have to wait for a table depending on what time you've managed to drag yourself out of bed but trust me, definitely worth it. You'll be glad you did and your stomach will thank you.

Every time I drop by I say that I'll get something else but I haven't quite managed to pull myself away from the Stacked Enchilada Breakfast yet. Once upon a time I was very close to ordering an omelette, my heart just wasn't in it so back to the SEB I went.

Hands down one of the best things you could ever bless your taste buds with. It's corn tortillas stacked with your choice of meat (you can choose between chicken, ground beef or chorizo and personally, I don't see how the chorizo can be passed up but different strokes for different folks) refried beans, salsa, lots of cheese, eggs (cooked however you want), avocado and sour cream (on the side).

Listen. L I S T E N. You can't tell me nothing when one of these bad boys get put down in front of me. If you've been here and haven't #blessed yourself with the Stacked Enchilada Breakfast at least once then you're missing out on some true greatness. Don't play yourself like that.

  • *****

Was pretty good. I had the patty melt and my friend had the chicken and waffles. My patty melt was good. Friend said the chicken and waffles was great. They were short-handed due to the holiday and I am sure the service would have been better with a full staff. I'm only taking one star off will update when I go back and I will be going back.

  • *****

Visiting town for the Divisional Playoffs, we found this spot in an article on Dallas's best breakfasts. We came here because of the great reviews and the pictures of the food. It was phenomenal. My husband had the chicken fried steak breakfast and I had the stacked enchilada without meat. We also got a side of gravy and a short stack of pancakes because we probably won't be in this area again any time soon (except for maybe tomorrow ). The pancakes were light and fluffy and generally delicious. My husband really liked the seasoning on his chicken fried steak and my stacked enchiladas were fabulous. Great Tex-Mex flavor. We would definitely come here again!

  • *****

We love the food here. It's the best home style cooking you are going to get in GP and Arlington. My favorite is the breakfast.

  • *****

Location is slightly hidden in the plaza. Food and service is great!!! Their cakes are delicious too. but menu is slightly overpriced for what it is. I wouldn't mind if they turned their overhead music down just a bit. They have a reward points system so that's good for frequent customers Only issue I have is their hours of operation...not ideal for a restaurant.

  • *****

Always enjoy eating here when we are in town for football. My wife had the migas and i had the chicken steak with eggs. Good service and a nice location.

  • *****

I moved to GP as a young woman, my husband and son moved here 5 years ago. We love it here. We love Good Day. "Anytime is a good time for Good Day Cafe" that is the saying around our house. The staff is awesome, the owners are top notched.

  • *****

This place is what a restaurant should be. Food, service, and price... Found them on yelp a year ago, and keep coming back.

  • *****

This place I looked up on yelp and it had many reviews with a great rating. My mother and I tried it and the chicken fried chicken skillet was amazing. The chicken was juicy and the breading was amazing. It wasn't too big and it wasn't small either it was just right. The manager I'm assuming came over to ask if everything tasted good because I didn't finish because I got full.

  • *****

We drive all the way from Dallas to go enjoy our favorite breakfast here. The farmers skillet and the belgian waffles are amazing. The wait staff is also very nice and gives fast service every time. Highly recommend this place.

How have I lived in Grand Prairie for six years and had no clue this place existed? That's all kinds of wrong because I have been missing out and am now making up for lost time.

Good Day Cafe is tucked away behind the Quik Trip on Robinson in a small shopping strip. I honestly would not have even noticed it if I had not looked up the top 5 restaurants in Grand Prairie on Yelp. Being a GP citizen, I find it necessary to know the best of everything in Grand Prairie.

Apparently I'm late to the party because every time I've gone to Good Day on the weekend it has been packed and I have happily agreed to wait in line for a table. Saturday and Sunday are both equally busy days. People come alone, eat in pairs, or even bring a group for birthday celebrations. I've gone solo and taken my mom and good friend from college for a nice breakfast.

So what to get here? I'm a sucker for their chorizo breakfast. The home fries, tortillas, chorizo, and oh man that sauce. One time I was really feeling hungry and I added a waffle to the mix. Oh. My. Food baby. Talk about the ultimate breakfast.

Good Day is a hidden gem and if you ever find yourself in GP around breakfast time, be sure to check it out. Even if it's not breakfast time check it out because they serve breakfast all day.

  • *****

The five star ratings are richly deserved. Xlnt service, the coffee is good and hot, and the BLT omelette is lights out good. The huge cats head biscuit was a tad dry, but not enough to bother me. Grits were excellent as well. Gah, what a great, old school breakfast place.

  • *****

Really enjoyed the food at this small, out of the way, cafe. Was there to visit my son and daughter-in-law. They recommended it and I am certainly glad they did. Food was really good and the down home type atmosphere made it a very comfortable place to eat.

This place is awesome. Had the breakfast and me husband and I were extremely satisfied. The food taste like gramma's. I will be returning?!!

First time visiting today. There was no wait and our server, Gabby, was very sweet and helpful as we selected our dishes. The food was delicious with very generous portion sizes. We had the Chicken & Waffles and the Chicken Fried Chicken Skillet. Everything is made fresh. We'll definitely be back.

  • *****

Found this place waiting at my son's barber shop one day. Went in for breakfast and boy was it yummy. Had the chicken and waffles and the chicken was perfect. Very large quantities of food. You definitely won't leave hungry. The only reason why i didn't give Good day 5 stars was because the coffee was very weak. But the service is superb and the food is delicious. Price is good not over priced at all. My mother was happy that she was able to order uloff the senior menu n which the age btw is 55.

  • *****

Excellent service and food! I Try to make it out here at least once a week with the family.

This place is great! I was greeted by the nice staff and was taken to my table pretty quickly. The food was amazing. For my first time being here I was very pleased with the service and food. The plates are a very good portion and they will definitely fill you up if you come with an appetite. I would recommend this place to anyone who is in the mood of comfort food.

Love Good Day Café! It is family owned and all the employees are very friendly.

Best kept secret in Grand Prairie! Food at any time of day is unbelievably delicious. Try the guacamole, made fresh daily. Staff all very attentive and exceptionally nice. Also very clean, always looks like they just mopped and swept and tables kept clear of any food or stickiness. Coffee and the crepes can't be beat!

  • *****

My friends and I came here for brunch the other day, I ordered stack beef enchiladas skillet with two sunny side up (yes, it comes with TWO eggs) and my friend ordered chicken fajitas. The waiting time wasn't bad, about 10-15 mins for our food. And let me tell you that stack enchilada with eggs was so delicious!!! I couldn't finish it, it filled me up quickly. The service was good, everyone works there is friendly and always checking up on us. I will be back for sure, next time I'm going to try their chicken fried steak skillet!

  • *****

Service is always good all kinds of different people here . Can be busy for weekend visit try during the weekdays. The mushroom Swiss burger was good and the Chorizo and eggs my wife does the stacked enchilada and the skillets.

  • *****

This place has great breakfast. We came on Saturday morning around 9:30 and had a party of 7. We were seated immediately and our drink orders were taken. We didn't have to wait long for food and the waitress was very attentive. This was the perfect stop for some out of towners on the way to Traders Village looking for good homestyle food.

  • *****

We finally had the chance to eat breakfast here. On our first visit I decided to try the Huevo Rancheros. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best either. I guess I am not used to putting cheese on my Hueva Rancheros, plus having my eggs put on top of corn tortillas. That may be their spin on Huevos Rancheros and again, it wasn't bad, just not what I expected. My wife had the Machaca on the first visit and loved her dish.

My wife went back and had a BLT Omelete and loved it as well. I then just got the 2 eggs breakfast, with bacon, hash browns, toast, and 1 pancake. It was good!! We will definitely be having breakfast there from now on. Everything is fresh and the staff are friendly and helpful.

My husband and I discovered this place once for breakfast and during our 7 months in GP we visited a few other times. The food is authentic and the service is outstanding. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner: Good Day Cafe has something good to eat.

  • *****

Wow! Found this place driving down the highway and I am so glad. The service is phenomenal. Our server was very timely, polite, and had help from several of the servers. Also, the food.... Amazing! They have turkey bacon and egg whites to help you stay on diet, they also have chicken fried steak for breakfast and everything in between . Every part of the meal was amazing and tasted very fresh. Try their hash browns and homemade buiscuits.

Highly recommend this to anyone if you are in the area!

  • *****

My boyfriend found this place and it is fabulous. I had the migas with avocado. The hash browns were good but the migas and tortillas were the best part. The eggs were cooked just right and the didn't skimp on the jalapeos and onions. It was the perfect balance of ingredients. My boyfriend had the Texas skillet and loved every bite. The menu is so varied I will definitely be back to try more things.

  • *****

It is stuck back behind some buildings. So look HARD! It is definitely worth it. It was a party of three. We went in on a Saturday. Soon as we walked through the door, we were immediately sat. The waitress brought our coffee out almost immediately. And, she kept the coffee coming. In fact ALL of the waitresses were SUPER helpful. It was a family atmosphere. Our order came out quickly. The portions were nice sized. The prices were in range of what to be expected. The plates looked good. The food tasted good. Keep in mind, we all ordered breakfast. If everything was so great...why not 5 stars? Mostly because the food tasted just OOO-Kay. No bells...no whistles... The food tasted good...not great. But, this is far from negative. It was a really good experience. I really did enjoy myself. I loved the atmosphere and the home town "feel" of the place. I will return.

Wanted try something other than an IHOP or Dennys. Reviews for this place are on point. I had the chila skillet with homemade salsa verde which is a play on chilequilles and it was AWESOME! This will definitely be my breakfast "go to" spot when in town. Great service, great food...

Visiting Arlington for the weekend, I opted to skip the complimentary hotel breakfast to check out this place. Glad I did because even though this was no frills establishment, it has a homey feel and had a laid back vibe. I ordered the Good Day sampler breakfast and the serving was just right. Eggs done as requested and coffee was hot and fresh. Service was friendly and checked up on me often.

I can't think of a thing this place can improve on. The Mexican omelet was great, a generous serving with fresh avocado and tasty salsa. Their pancakes are delicious and fluffy with a nice buttermilk flavor. I've also had their chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans. The chicken fried steak has a really nice flavorful batter. The gravy was good and peppery, but not too spicy. And the green beans are great as well, accented with bacon. I also LOVE that they serve a FREE cup of homemade soup with every meal. The veggie soup is yummy. You can tell it's doing good things for your body. I have also had their cheese enchiladas. They are very Tex Mex. The cheese inside was a fresh tasting cheddar and the ranchera sauce has a nice flavor, a very mild spicy, friendly to any palate but NOT a watered down tomato ranchera sauce. Oh! Don't forget the home made cakes! Yum! The mango cake is NOT to be missed, served with FRESH mango! The service is always excellent and the ambience is relaxed and family friendly. Further, they have always been very accommodating to my Special Needs children.

This is a review for breakfast only, because I've never had them for lunch or dinner, but for breakfast they're spectacular. I had the two egg breakfast with sausage, and my wife had the green eggs. I like my eggs over medium, and a lot of breakfast places don't seem to understand the concept of eggs where the whites are solid but the yolks are still runny. Here they were perfect. The hash browns were also excellent, and the biscuit was delicious. The biscuit was very large, and came with a bowl of cream gravy. The sausage was also very good. The servings were very generous, and for $6.99 it was a bargain. My wife also enjoyed her green eggs, which were eggs cooked with fresh spinach. Her side order of fruit was also excellent, and considering that it's February that's saying a lot. I'll be back for breakfast, and I plan to give their lunch and dinner menu a try as well.

  • *****

Looking for a brunch place on Sunday at noon, and found this cafe. Only had to wait 20 minutes to be seated and when we were the staff was courteous table was clean and the food was delicious. Giant portion sizes real steaks and homemade biscuits. This is our new breakfast place.

AMAZING!!!!!!! this is my third time coming to this place, although the location is always full we are seated immediately! no ridiculous wait time like at other breakfast places. Everything I have tried here on the breakfast menu is so good, but my favorite has to be the stacked enchilada breakfast. has 3 stacked tortillas with chorizo beans and cheese with homemade Mexican salsa and two over medium eggs on top. The way they plate is is very pretty also. I'm glad we found this gem. no longer will be going to cracker barrel or ihop for breakfast.

We live in the area and have eaten at this place numerous times. We have always been pleased with the food and the service. Two of the ladies we knew when they worked at IHOP. My husband and I were having a hard time figuring out where we wanted to eat for breakfast last week when we decided we were not in the mood for a big crowd or generic, big chain restaurants. Turned to Yelp and I'm so glad I did!

This place is a hidden gem!!

When we walked in, there is a register and a hostess stand. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and waited about ten minutes to be sat (it was about 10 or 10:30 a.m.).

First thing I noticed after being seated is the cozy atmoshpere. The decorations are adorbale. Reminded me of being at 'Gram's house.' Our waitress brought our drinks but had to come back a few mins later before we could order... simply because there was so much to choose from and we took forever to decide! You have your options between regular breakfast combos, Tex-Mex, omelettes, and skillets. (They also have 'light' options)

I had the chicken fried chicken skillet and my husband had the Farm Skillet. My mouth is watering just thinking aout it.... Both meals came with choice of toast or biscuit and gravy. We of course got the biscuit and gravy... Which i didn't even touch considering I was only able to get through about half of my skillet. Took the rest home and devoured it a couple hours later.

We have definitely found our new breakfast spot.... can't wait to go back!

I had the stacked enchilada breakfast and it was to die for...my friend had the BLT omelet and she said it was delish!!! They give you alot of food for the price.. I will be coming back for lunch and dinner! Now I'm full and ready for a nap! Another great spot to add to my list of regulars!

Awesome little diner spot for comfort food! The chicken and waffles are delicious and the prices don't hurt your wallet!

The coffee is delicious, the pancakes and waffles are perfection. I love it all here! Home style cooking! I have been coming to this restaurant for years, and they recently moved locations! Try it, you won't regret it!

This is the new location and it's spacious. They have seating in forms of tables, booths, and single booths. Food comes out hot and fresh! Delicious everytime!
    Staff are super friendly.

Food: the food was great! I ordered the chicken fried chicken with a side order of home fries. I also ordered the coffee (nothing special). The chicken was hot, crispy and flavorful.

The potatoes were not as crispy as I personally like but it had a great flavor and I enjoyed it.

Venue: the venue is nothing super fancy. Just a regular cafe you would come across in a small town. The furniture is new so it doesn't look dingy just not fancy.

Staff/service: they were friendly and quick. No special connection or anything like that.

Tip: The red potatoes that come with the chicken fried chicken are delicious

We like to try different places and this is a great find. The restaurant was nicely decorated and clean. The food is really good. If you ever want to eat chicken and waffle, you should come here to try. The chicken was pergectly seasoned and very crispy. Eggs benedict was awesome!!! Glad we found this place and will be back to try other items on the menu. Oh, we got a piece of the mango cake and it was sooooo good.

We have been meaning to try this restaurant. The menu looks good and the food is reasonably priced. We came on a Saturday morning. Although it was crowded we were seated immediately. The service was great and we did not have to wait long for our food. I had french toast, eggs, and sausage. My husband had the chicken and waffle. The food was hot and very tasteful. We will definitely come soon back.

Saturday morning @9am and the cafe is about 75% full and we are seated immediately and shortly after the coffee and breakfast is ordered.

We are new to the area and we wanted the order to be basic; things that are hard to screw up.

My wife had 1 egg scrambled, with avocado and a couple of slices of bacon and salsa.

I had 2 eggs over easy, bacon, cottage cheese and chose the biscuit with gravy.

No kidding we had our food piping hot in less than ten minutes. Everything came out as expected and tasted great. I would recommend the homemade biscuits be removed from the oven a few minutes early so they are a little more moist.

Atmosphere was very friendly, young and old alike, we felt very comfortable. There are two tv's but they were not on; recommend they turn them on but tune into anything but the news! They also had a good mix of music playing softly in the background.

This may become a regular Saturday morning ritual assuming the food, service, and atmosphere don't change for the worst.

My husband and I have just moved away from Grand Prairie and miss Good Day so much! We'd go so often that we were considered "regulars" and were actually able to order our "usual" dishes! Everything we've had is delicious and reasonably priced. The portions are generous so you will not leave hungry.

Everything is delicious but in my opinion, they excel in breakfast items.
The enchilada stack was my favorite. We're talking layers of corn tortillas, your choice of meat filling (eg; chorizo, shredded chicken, ground beef), refried beans, ranchero sauce, and topped with eggs cooked to order (I recommend over easy). My absolute favorite for anytime of the day. I'm drooling and tearing up a little as I write this...

Pancakes are perfect. Fluffy and satisfying with the perfect amount of sweetness. Perfect. Make it a combo to include eggs, crispy bacon or sausage, and hashbrowns and you've got yourself a breakfast that'll require a nap afterwards.

The waffles are fantastic. They are huge! Crispy on the outside and fluffy inside.

    The French toast is amazing!

The egg and chorizo plate is delicious and hearty. It's a chorizo and egg scramble with a side of refried beans and hot flour or corn tortillas. Delicious.

My husband always ordered the nachos. They are crispy tortilla chips topped with your choice of meat (chicken or ground beef) shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, jalapenos, cheese, sour cream, and salsa. So good.

I can go on and on but have decided to only go into detail about my favorites. You really can't go wrong!

I'm almost a regular here at Good Day Cafe, but I rarely do reviews. Today I will. Service was awesome. I ordered the Machaca and it was a great blend of scrambled eggs, jalapeos, tortillas, onion, tomato, cheese and shredded roast beef. Only thing it needed was just a little salt. I had a side of refried beans that were awesome and flour tortillas that were more than likely made in house. I added avacado for $1.50 and what I got was 1/2 of a very large ripe avacado sliced on a seperate plate. Awesome!

This place is absolutely amazing. From the moment I walked in the door I was promptly greeted, seated, and placing my drink order. My waitress was very friendly. I ordered the French toast combo with bacon and egg whites only. I like my egg whites fried and she informed me that they couldn't do it, I told her scrambled was fine. To my surprise when she brought my order out they were fried just the way I like them. My bacon was delicious, my French toast was perfectly cooked and my entire experience was heavenly. I even got my lemon in my water which most waitresses tend to forget. Not to mention I was able to enjoy French vanilla in my coffee here instead of my normal black and Splenda blend. Lol I love it here. My entire experience was worth every star. I will definitely be back!
